Buy Authentic Thekua Online in India

Thekua — also spelled Thekuwa or Khajuria — is the iconic deep-fried sweet of Bihar, Jharkhand and Eastern Uttar Pradesh, lovingly offered as prasad during Chhath Puja. At Da Cultural Cravings we follow the original Bihari recipe — whole-wheat atta, pure desi ghee and natural jaggery (gur) — with no maida, palm oil or preservatives.

Alongside Thekua, our handcrafted range includes festive favourites Gujiya, Khurma and Chena Murki. Whether you are sourcing Chhath Puja prasad, Diwali gifting, or simply craving authentic Bihari sweets online, every box is baked in small batches in our Bangalore kitchen and dispatched fresh across India.

    Why Da Cultural Cravings

    • 100% pure desi ghee — no vanaspati, no refined oil.
    • Traditional jaggery sweetening — gentler on the gut than refined sugar.
    • Handcrafted in small batches — never mass-produced.
    • Pan-India delivery from Bangalore with secure festive packaging.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is Thekua and why is it offered during Chhath Puja?
Thekua is a traditional Bihari sweet made from wheat flour, ghee and jaggery. Because it stays fresh for weeks without refrigeration, it became the natural prasad for Chhath Puja, where devotees offer it to the rising and setting sun.
Can I buy authentic Thekua online and get delivery across India?
Yes. We ship Thekua, Gujiya, Khurma and Chena Murki to every PIN code in India from our Bangalore kitchen. Place an order from our shop page and we dispatch within 24–48 hours.
Are your sweets made with maida or refined sugar?
No. We use only whole-wheat atta, pure desi ghee and natural jaggery / unrefined sugar. No maida, no palm oil, no preservatives, no artificial colour.
How long do Thekua and Khurma stay fresh?
Thekua and Khurma stay fresh for 15–20 days at room temperature in an airtight container. Gujiya is best within 10 days. Chena Murki should be refrigerated and consumed within a week.
Do you take bulk orders for Chhath Puja and Diwali?
Yes — we love festive bulk orders for prasad, corporate gifting and weddings. Reach out via our Contact page at least 5 days before your event.
